The 2nd Edition of Snow Marathon Lahaul was successfully conducted on 12th March 2023. This edition of the Snow Marathon had 300 runners from across India and a few from overseas as well, participating across the four categories. It was heartening to see the runners in action amidst surreal landscape, in what can be described as one of the toughest marathons on the planet. Indian Navy and Indian Army had a good number of runners with 24 and 20 participants respectively.
The winner of the Women’s Full Marathon for the second consecutive year was Tenzin Dolma who clocked a timing of 3:56:40. Runner-Up Gurmeet, who has also has also run the Antarctica Ice Marathon, was at a distant 7:53:47. Men’s Full Marathon Winner was Vikesh at a highly impressive timing of 3:35:54. Runner-Up Kushal came at a close 3:38:08.
The winner of Women’s Half Marathon was Preeti Poswal who clocked an impressive timing of 1:54:45. Women’s Runner-Up was tightly close Palak at 1:55:45. Men’s Half Marathon Title was bagged by Aneesh Chandel with a stunner of a timing at 1:14:16. Yashpal followed closely at 1:16:18 as the Men’s Runner-Up. The 10K Women’s Winner was Sana who clocked the timing of 1:30:13. Rustom was the 10K Men’s Winner at 44:42:00.
The World’s Highest Snow Marathon was supported well be top brands of the Country. Fortis Mohali was once again the vital Medical Partner. Garmin was once again the Awards Partner and Fast&Up again was on board as the Nutrition Partner. Bonn was also again on board as the Refreshments Partner. Red Bull provided the much-needed energy drinks for the highly challenging race.
The 2 nd Edition of Snow Marathon Lahaul was appreciated well by all runners and audience. The Race was well covered by entire spectrum of Media including Times of India, Zee News, Aaj Tak and India today, besides Dainik Jagran and Divya Himachal to name a few. The track record of the event being 100% safe has been maintained in this edition as well. The successful completion of 2 nd Edition has set the stage for an even bigger snow marathon next year.
